Welcome to New Life LAN! 12 hours of non-stop gaming, junk food, and good times spent with good people! New Life Gaming hosts monthly, 12-hour, BYOC LAN Parties! LAN is short for Local Area Network, and BYOC is short for Bring Your Own Computer/Console.
New Life Gaming was created by a group of nerds who love Jesus and believe in what he asked us to do: love our neighbors. We want to highlight the love of Jesus in different gaming spaces, while also teaching the principles of good sportsmanship, kindness, and compassion. We want to build meaningful relationships through shared hobbies and interests in gaming culture!
Not sure on the whole “Christian” thing? No worries! Our LAN events are for everyone from all backgrounds. Come and get your game on with others in a family-friendly environment!
What if I’m under 18?
- Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
- All of our volunteers (Row Leaders, etc.) are ministry-safe certified, meaning that they have been cleared with background checks, and have gone through sexual abuse awareness training.
Why does it cost $10?
- If we could make this free we totally would! However, there are costs associated with providing an awesome LAN experience. Networking/power equipment, room rental fees, etc.
Does it matter what system I play on?
- We invite all gamers, platforms, and playing styles. Whether you’re the competitive type or more into casual gaming, we desire to be a community of gamers that play and compete well. Want to play Fortnite with friends? Perfect! Want to set aside some time to catch up on that RPG work has kept you from? Fantastic!
- Regardless of what system you play on, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO HAVE ALL OF YOUR GAMES DOWNLOADED AND UPDATED BEFOREHAND! This will help to ensure fast internet and network speeds for everyone at the LAN.
What should I to bring?
- Computer or console (grab your cables!)
- Power strip
- 25' ethernet cable (you can buy these for cheap from Walmart)
- Monitor/TV (grab your cables!)
- Gaming peripherals (headset, mouse, controller, etc.)
- Your favorite snacks and drinks
- Comfy Chair (optional)
What should I NOT bring?
- Monitor/TV over 32”
- Any powered refrigeration
- Drugs or Alcohol
- Weapons
What games will be played?
- There is no set game list. We encourage a “play-it-your-way” atmosphere! You can play whatever games you want, whenever you want. Call of Duty and Fortnite are both large games, so expect to see a lot of those games being played. Below is a list of some great, cross-platform games:
